State-Specific Advocacy Resources for OMA State Chapters Members of the OMA Advocacy Committee have also developed a mock-up of a possible state-specific advocacy resource document that could be developed for every new OMA State Chapter. While this was developed as a toolkit, it could be easily translated into an advocacy section of the state chapter website once that is up and running. The goal is to provide chapter members with basic background and contact information for key state policymakers in their state such as Governor, State Insurance Commissioner and House and Senate Healthcare Committee Chairs. The document would also contain information for state medical society contacts and any relevant medical society policy, state medical board contact information and obesity-specific policy and other relevant background.
