Further Questions Regarding the Proposed Membership Types:

If I am a non-physician member of the OMA and I want to switch my membership option to “voting” once the new bylaws take effect, when can I do this? Changes to your current membership type will be made at time of membership renewal. When you renew your membership, you will be presented with two options: voting or non-voting. See the new member type explanation on the page above . I am an Associate (or NP/PA) Member of the OMA, and my membership is not due to be paid again until August of 2024. Once these changes are enacted, am I automatically changed to a “non voting” member? Once it is time for you to renew, you will be given the option to select either the voting or non-voting membership at that time and you are eligible to change types upon each renewal.

I have always purchased a multi-year membership (i.e. 3, 5, etc.). Can I still do this under the new voting and non-voting membership levels? The OMA will still offer multi-year options with the new membership types, and all members will have the option to choose multi-year memberships at the time of their renewal. New members will see these same options as well.

What efforts is the OMA taking to ensure that the physician members of the OMA are also members of the AMA? The OMA is currently offering an OMA membership discount for physician members who are also members of the AMA. Further, the OMA publishes information on the importance of AMA membership in its newsletters and other collateral.
