Solicitation for Delegates a. Application for the AMA delegate positions will be included with requests to run for BOT and EC positions prior to Fall meetings. b. While the board can appoint any member they choose, these applications can be used to find interested OMA members. a. c. The board should endeavor to stagger appointments of the Delegates. Compensation The delegate positions are volunteer positions. There is no compensation for serving as a delegate. OMA Conferences The delegate will receive hotel accommodations for up to 3 nights, food and registration expenses for the OMA meetings are covered pursuant to the OMA travel policy.Delegates receive conference registration, hotel and travel package to the OMA Spring and Fall meetings. Their travel package is the same as BOT members. At the discretion of the board, delegates may be invited to attend board meetings in a non-voting capacity. It is important for delegates to be up to date on the latest happenings at the OMA to accurately and fully represent the OMA at the AMA. Delegates and alternates may also / alternatively be called upon to provide an AMA update. They can also be questioned regarding policies or positions the OMA wants them to advance within the AMA, or topics of concern they’d like addressed at caucus meetings, or between meetings. Non-board delegates may be asked to leave the room for non-relevant items (salary discussions, ED reviews, sensitive discussions that aren’t relevant to the delegate, etc.) A separate tab of the meeting handbook should be devoted to AMA discussion at each board meeting and interim phone meetings. • Financial Consideration: Cost stated below would not be incurred if Delegate is a member of the Board.
