2022 Atlanta Board of Trustees Meeting

Participants The NEHI panel will be drawn from among experts in the following fields:

 Self-funded health care payers and supporting organizations and associations  Clinical practice leadership (e.g., The Obesity Society, Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association, STOP (Strategies to Overcome and Prevent Obesity, The Obesity Medicine Association)  Provider payment model experts/key opinion leaders  Patient-centered research and patient advocacy (e.g., Obesity Action Coalition)  Insurance benefit design  Chronic care management- primary care and other site-based care  Chronic care management – online  Digital health  Anti-obesity medication (AOM) drug development and pharmaceutical manufacturers  Relevant public health and community-based organizations  Measure development and validation Location The meeting will be held in-person in Washington, D.C., unless COVID-related restrictions dictate otherwise, in which case the meeting will be held virtually.

Facilitator The meeting will be facilitated by a professional facilitator supported by NEHI staff.

Tentative Meeting Agenda - A. Overview presentation by NEHI (based on conference pre-read)

B. Discussion The meeting facilitator will lead a discussion with the entire group on three general topics. Discussion on each topic will begin with comments from 2-3 designated experts who are part of the overall group. The designated experts will address issues of evidence, patient targeting and adherence and persistence relative to each of the three topics. The three topics 1) Integration of care models, goods, services, and analytical tools 2) Benefit design 3) Recommendations for scale-up and/or demonstration of obesity treatment at scale

C. Summation and closing (NEHI)

White Paper Findings and recommendations from the meeting will be summarized by NEHI staff within a NEHI white paper. In keeping with the Chatham House rule, no comments made during the meeting will be attributed to an individual without their permission. A draft of the NEHI white paper will be circulated for review by participants in the meeting before NEHI releases the paper publicly.
