discount to move CITs to full physician membership “special” has been offered since 2/1/23 with three members taking advantage of this thus far. Currently there are 204 associate members (RNs, RDs, exercise clinicians, etc.) in this membership category. This is currently being offered as of 2/1/2023 and since this has been offered, 42 new or renewed physician members have taken advantage of this offer. No official promotion has gone out to OMA’s membership promoting this, as it has only been recently added to retention emails. More promotions and website updates are pending currently. This intervention was previously proposed by the OMA’s Immediate Past President, and it called for the following elements with some modifications as noted here: Split the physician and the non-physician membership category into two options: Associate members are currently voting members.

Move associate members to non-voting members (only)

This intervention would provide another 3% boost in the voting category to meet the AMA requirements. Offers attractive fiscal advantages to OMA members and positively impacts the OMA’s percentage of physician membership who are required to also be AMA members (this requirement is a minimum of 20%) Helps control the percentages of non-physician voting members (and other member types) by limiting how many are voting members versus

There are no considerations necessary here relative to “conversions” as in the CIT category above.

This is a low “lift” from an effort perspective for the OMA staff and has

minimal (negative) fiscal considerations as well.
